Superb modern room, fun mini bar with house pre mix cocktails at reasonable prices Excellent check in experience Breakfast buffet is one of the best we've ever had anywhere in the world Double balcony meant we could have some excellent fresh air through the room Location is within walking distance to everything you need to do in Athens - Plaka, the Partheon, Parliament, tomb of the unknown soldier/changing of the guard, museums, art galleries. Cookooveya Restaurant 5 minutes walk away was outstanding. PT is right next door and we caught the tram bus to the Archeological Museum and the train down to the port area The street next to the hospital 5 minutes walk away has a heap of bakeries for a cheap pick up of coffee, cakes, pastries, rolls etc and there is a local supermarket 5 minutes walk away. The staff are really helpful with information regarding anything you need Finally the roof top is amazing with clear views to the Acropolis and a fun old style phone to dial direct to the bar down stairs for your cocktail order

I loved fhe property. As it was for my birthday celebration, i was pleasantly surprised at the checkin as i got an upgrade of our room. Conveniently located, within walking distance to Syntagma square on a nice sunny day as well as 1 or 2 metro stops to all central locations. Hotel is freshly redecorated, looks very stylish and modern. Loved the whole library look in the cafe downstairs. Enjoyed the rooftop garden a bit. Staff was very helpful, friendly, kind and attentive. Their recommendation of the local taverna was amazing. Outstanding food and amazing ambience. Also accommodated our early checkout and our wishes for breakfast box. Just loved it. Enjoyed the option of having freshly cooked food for breakfast as well as divine freshly squeezed orange juice. they hold events every other night, we enjoyed music on one night and nice local Modernist wine on the other. All in all i loved it!

This was my second visit. I returned after a stay a year ago, this time bringing a friend along. Excellent location in a clean, safe, upscale neighborhood (although an extended family of transients moved into the adjoining park during our stay). It's in a former embassy on embassy row, with many key museums within walking distance. Metro stop is a couple of minutes away, with most major attractions within a couple of stops (the Athens subway itself, while online having three lines, deserves kudos). Staff are amazingly friendly and helpful. Breakfast is very good, filling, and healthy. Views of the Acropolis from the rooftop bar and even from our rooms' balconies.

We visited Syntagma/the Plaka area/ Lycabettus / and a few museums all by foot.The room - extra large on the sixth floor - was splendid and perfect for the three of us. Access to a jacuzzi on our terrace with views to Lycabettus and the Acropolis were a huge bonus. Most importantly, truly lovely, welcoming staff on arrival and throughout our stay made this a very special place. We would only come back here every time we are back in Athens. Thanks to everyone for making this such a great stay!

I chose the Modernist because of the excellent reviews about staff support - they were right! Everyone at the hotel was so kind and helpful. Pablos, Ian, and Zoe were so genuinely attentive with me and my parents. They helped us with information about parking, restaurants, taxis, and last minute reservations. Also: great location near the metro, quiet and safe neighborhood and excellent breakfast. The terrace was a great place to relax with a view of the Acropolis after exploring all day. 10/10 would stay here again!
